I shorten the tongue because it had some rot and removed the tractor conversion attachment. I can pull it around with an 8n or my cub but would like to convert it to 3pt without hacking it all up so if I want to return it back to original shape I can.
Here are a couple of the reasons why. Now it's a two man operation with the 3pt it would be a one man. The sprocket on the axle has been welded so it's engaged all the time you can't disengage it without taking off the chain which would have to be done at the end of the rows which are usually short rows. With the 3pt just raise it up at the end of the row and the wheels will stop moving.
Our hunting club is about 300 acres and we have serveral small food plots and to get there some of the trails are steep and rocky. some spots are easier to access by drive the tractor down the rode a ways. 3pt would make this also easier.
