a few pictures of my (new to me) kinda rare MF Disc Plow #64

just got it cleaned up and painted, new rear blade on trailing wheel and had to make the dirt scrapers and support stand leg.

but, otherwise the unit was in good shape,

it is the first MF disc plow that i have ever seen that has the bent tube main frame. would assume it is an early 60's model since it is a MF

would like to have seen the machine they used to bend that main frame tube.

it's on the way to be parked on my equipment ready line, all equipment must be on go for spring garden plowing.

took the old plow to the garden for a test run this afternoon,

it did great, but i still had to used the chain stabilizer on the right side as it wanted to pull to the left.

so i brought it back to the shop and loosen all the adjustment nuts and bolts that control the rear guide wheel. made some adjustments that would steer the guide wheel more to the right.

will see how it does after the adjustment, but it did a good job plowing and kicked out a few more old tree roots.

That is the beauty of an old disc plow, instead of getting hung up on roots/rocks, etc: it just kicks then out or rolls over them and you never have to slow down.

Fun old plow to use, you know me, I march to a different drummer.

I have a 3 bottom trailer disc plow. I think it may be an IHC. Wish I could find an op manual. I've played with it quite a bit and can't get it to work right. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but it may be the discs are worn too small to work right too.
