Good day all,
This post driver came in an auction many moons ago for our Massey Ferguson 235. It was a Gresen hydraulic valve with a casting # of 550. The lever for the hydraulic valve and one of the hydraulic hoses have broken off (yes, when I was trying to move that heavy @##$%. leaving the threaded end of the hose in the valve. Argh! So, I suspect I can replace this valve, but I'm not sure how to figure out what specs a valve would need to have to replace it. Conversely, are there places where these things can be repaired? Thanks for the advice.

Why not get a large easy out and remove the threaded piece or use a cut off hacksaw blade and cut on opposite sides until you are to the threads then use a small chisel to unscrew or unseat the broken piece, wich ever happens first. If the valve is good i would try this first.i dont know what brand or model pounder you have but kencove dot com may have the broken handle available or the whole valve if that is the route you choose. i have personally had good luck with them and their parts.

You may also be able to get the handle at TSC. Dremel tool is also handy for cutting the stub out. Make sure you clean it out well.

Well, I ended up removing the valve and taking it to a local machine shop to have the handle made and the threaded stub removed. They have done some nice work for me in the past. They will have it done Monday afternoon.
