Information I have shows the following: No. 999, L.W. Made 1912 to 1932 No. 999, H.W. Made 1913 to 1927 No. 999A, H.W. Made 1928 to 1934 No. 999T, L.W. Made 1929 to 1932 No. 999F, L.W. Made 1932 to 1934 No. 999H, L.W.and H.W. Made 1934 to 1936 No. 999K, L.W.and H.W. Made 1936 only(L.W. and H.W. denotes Low-Wheel and High Wheel) If I remember right, low wheels were 30 inches in diameter and high wheels were 38 inches in diameter. Don't know much about the specific differences between models. Could go through the parts lists for each and maybe find some differences. These were good planters. Have used them for years.

Do you have any parts lists for any? If so would it be possible for me to get copies? Have Amish friends that are still using those planters.

I'm pretty sure you can still get one from Deere. If not, Small Farmers Journal has reprints and Ebay is loaded with them.

Thanks for the info. John Deere showes a mdl. 999F & 999L w/ no pictures. SFJ only has a manual on a 999H which is close but not the same. Ebay has a 999L manual , which looks the same- with a bid heading towards $40.00. What is the differance between the different mdls? Just different mdl. upgrades over the years? Any help would be appreciated. Also if any help some paint is lsft & looks to be Green & Yellow, but I read that all of the horse drawn equipment was red.

There is probably a dozen different 999 models and I know L is for low wheel and that H is a high wheel model. I have yey to find out the wheel sizes tho. I do have somw manuals but they do not address the difference in the models. A book for any should get you within operating ability for any of the models.
