What would be the value of an early 50's mccormick T50 baler with cub engine?
Runs good. Bales good.

In an area with any Amish it will bring $1000 or more since it works. They really like the old engine driven balers.

That machine is so old and scarce these days it would impossible to set a "value".'round here all it would be is scrap iron,so scrap price,or less.If you can get $500,consider yourself lucky.

Yes, they were a good old baler with the Continential engine on them. Used one quite a bit, quite a few year's ago. The only problem was that the engine wouldn't start by hand crank when warm. We always kept a tractor with belt pulley in field when baling, and would hook it up when the engine stalled from a large wad of hay. As far as value, probably not much more than junk price.

Last one I saw was a few years ago and at consignment auction at tractor show it sold for $5, no that is not a misprint but just five hole dollars, the guy said take the $5 bid, he just wanted it gone. Was in good shape and I do not think they made any without the engine. And that engine is worth more than the rest of the baler that is worth just junk price of right now about $200 per ton. Could not give one away here to be used.

800-1000 dollars. Dolly wheel in the front or Continental Y-69 for power, probably $1200-1500. Knotter has a complicated look that frightens many people, even though it functions the same as any knotter in the 21st Century. It is a good baler, particularly useful when baling out of a pile, or re-baling.
