I have a 5 foot hardee rotary mower that I"m trying to get the blades off of. Sprayed the nut with kroil for 4 days. Put my 1" drive ratchet and 5 foot of cheetah on it and tried to turn counter clockwise (left hand threads) I would presume. I can"t get either nut loose. Any ideas?

If you are trying to remove the individual bolts that hold actual blades on they are usually spot welded. If you are trying to remove the T that holds both blades on, it usually has a cotter pin in the middle of the nut/shaft.

The one that holds the blades on. I don"t know what I did with the ID plate but it is a 5 footer. Agri Supply sells blades a Hardee and a bolt assembly which is listed as left hand threads. I have replaced many a bush Hog brand and they are all left hand threaded.

I have always found it easier, logistically speaking, to remove the individual pins, on the top side. They are regular thread, but you can get at them, through the service hole, which also acts to lock the blade carrier in place, as you turn the nut.

I cannot remember any Hardee mowers that came with a left-hand thread bolt/nut. Best I remember all were r/h thread. I "think" you might be tightening the nut.

Which nut, the one on the bottom, that holds both blades to the gearbox, or one on top, that holds each individual blade??
