JD F-145 Semi-Mounted 4x16"..

I am going to reduce it to 3x16" and am undecided if I should keep it Semi-Mounted or just convert it to Fully Mounted...???
I like the way a Semi transports but we all like the ease of operation of a Fully-mounted plow..
Semi-Mounted looks better when it is on and ready to go..
Would anyone have a good picture of a 3x16 JD Semi-Mounted plow, so I can see how the steering linkage is arranged..??
Thank..!

Ron..

Thanks for the replies...!

I am still trying to figure if I should put the Bellcrank for the cylinder in the other side of the beam, to get it to line up with the rear wheel better..??
I think it will clear the steering Bellcrank..will just angle the cylinder some toward the center of the frame...
What do ya think..?

Ron..

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see

After having plowed with both 3pt and semi-mount plows I'd never want a straight 3pt again. Not as easy to follow a contour terrace with a straight 3pt as the semi.

Agreed........we bought our first semi-mount in the mid-60s; a five bottom F145H; after that, you couldn't give me a 3-point hitch plow if I had to use it.

I was thinking that I may need to place the bellcrank (from cylinder, to raise the rear) to the opposite side of the original position, to get it straighter, to line up after the 4th bottom is removed..??
OR..to just make it a fully mounted plow (3 bottom)..
Ron..

PS: I did not find any pictures of any F-145 plows in the archives..

Dave are you aware that your plow was a four or a five bottom that was cut down to a three? All factory three bottom F145's had the pivot for the steering linkage mounted over the front bottom not over the second like yours. It will work fine and I have seen a hundred or more cut down in the last 25 years at sales. We cut a five to a four once but did not like the wider frame on the five as well as the factory four bottom.
