Couple years ago I was baling a field and forgot to put in extra box of twine. Orangeline 9000 TSC brand for small balers.. Any way I called a buddy to see if he would get me some..he instead brought me some of his ..Briden brand ?? Any who I stuck that in and when it switched over from what I was using to that It missed every time.. Couldnt figure it why. But I stopped baling and drove over to TSC to get some Orangeline and away we went happy as a lark no missing. !!??!!

I had the exact opposite. Was using Bridon 9600. Supplier ran out, went to Orangeline 9600 to get done, Hesston 4550 which hadn't missed a tie in 2500 bales started missing one out of every 15-20. Went back to Bridon when new shipment came in, no misses. I have since found that if I use Orangeline 9000 instead of 9600, if I can't get the Bridon, that it won't miss.

After many years of working great my old Case 200 started missing bales. A friend told me to go to 9000 twine instead of 10000. Now it very seldom misses a bale and when it does 9 times out of ten it is when the splice between twine balls goes through.

All depends on what you mean by a better twine. If going to a plastic after using stisal (sp) yep common since the bill hooks for the 2 are a tad bit different. If going to a better plastic again yep due to the fact it can be harder to cut so you need sharper twine knifes
