Not sure where to ask this, but I came across three old wagons. All have wooden spoke wheels with the metal band on them. They are in rough shape. Not sure what to do with them. I know the wheels are wanted but two of the three might be able to restore. One the owner said was made by stuabaker. |

| Go to smokstak.com where they have a thread for horse drawn equipment. Put your question on that and you'll probably get answers from folks that use and know this stuff. |

| If the running gear (??) is still tuff, saw a real nice flower garden on one set up like in the link. They had it laid full of 4 inch or so pine logs the full length (think they were skinned?). Hollowed out enough in the top to hold some dirt, planeted flowers and herbs that come back each year, and parked it. They paint (oil) the outside logs and the running gear. The decaying wood fertilizes and builds the dirt. It's been sitting there for 17 or 18 years that I know of, don't know how long before....
Tastes vary tho.....

| I will check this week. I know one had springs but not sure of the fifth wheel. Not really sure where to look for it |

| Where are they located? I have working draft horses and have been looking for an additonal wagon for general farm use. Have repaired them in the past. |

| | I HATE to see old wagons rotting away as yard art but it is the sad truth for a lot of them. Wheels aroud here sell for $75-$100 each as decorations. THere are people around that can rebuild wheels, I restored a family heirloom a few years back. | | IF there is a Studebaker wagon there & it has a handful of good hardware, it may be worth a few bucks to someone who needs the parts. Otherwise the wagons &/or their wheels would make good decorations for someones yard. Sad but true. Mike |
