I bought a three bottom, three point mount John Deere moldboard plow. The landside wheel is missing. I thought it would be important to have it on, yet three point mounted two way plows don't have a landside wheel. How do they get away without one? Wouldn't that creat excessive side draft on the three point hitch? |

| It is not all that hard to make-up a gauge wheel that can be adjusted for plowing depth.. Ron.. |

| Like the others said, do not need if you use the draft control on the 3pt. The plow should have adjustments that offset the bottom pins for direction control. |

| You would need to say which JD you are using that 3-bottom on... On a JD 60, you had Better have that wheel...!! If not, you will have a miserable time plowing..you cannot control plowing depth with the 3-Point on any 50,60 or 70 JD tractor without that gauge wheel..BTDT.. Ron.. |

| | Would have very little effect on side draft. Helps to set depth more easily for the most part. Set up the plow right & it should work fine. As much art as science on doing that. :) --->Paul |

| ive never had one except on a disc plow. if your plows set correctly, to pull straight, it wont make a whole lot of difference. a rolling landslide simply decreases draft of a fixed landslide,it doesnt hold the plow in any way. if your plow is not pulling striaght,a tailwheel will not hold it straight. you can buy new plows without them. if your plows setup correctly the rolling landside will have very little pressure on it. |
