Horse-drawn Van Brunt grain drill

Just purchased this drill. I have researched it &
believe it is a Model X, made from 1913 to 1919.
Does anybody here have any more info? There does
not seem to be too many of these around. Parts
book? I read that the parts for this are in one of
the Van Brunt manuals.

That looks like a good find. My John Deere Van Brunt Repair catalog No. 132-M (March 15, 1940) shows the model X with variations built 1912 up through at least 1935. It includes the part numbers and cuts (pictures) of each part. This is more than I knew 20 minutes ago. Good luck.

Everybody had one around here. But most rotted down outside. Yours is maybe the nicest I've ever seen. Don't you dare go repainting it.
They are called "corn stalk" drills here. They were used to plant wheat in growing corn is September.

I got this in central Missouri from a guy that said he bought it from the original owner at his estate sale. I figured they would be more popular in the corn belt. Just ordered a manual-thanks, that number was exactly what I needed.
