Ezee Flow Spreader

We have customer that is wanting some help with an Ezee flow spreader. What happened to this company? Where could we find parts?

They were eventually merged into New Idea, as AVCO (not related to present-day AGCO) had owned both since the 50s. Products have been long-discontinued. New parts are non-existant. Fabrication is the name of the day if you want to keep one running.

There are so many of them around and so cheap I wouldn't spend anything fixing one up, he might be better off buying one ready to go and keeping his for parts.

Where are there so many of them around? Last year the Amish had me trying to find some of those in any make and they are hard to find. Finally did find 2 of them and they both took work, One was a Deere and the other was a Oliver. There never was many around here and had to find the Oliver unit 150 mile away from the purcheser, 100 mile from me and the other was on a junk pile 8 mile from me and 40 mile from the purcheser. Using them on compost on vegies that there is a produce auction about 6-8 mile from them.

I have a 12ft wide New Idea setting out by my tree line. That is the storage area for most of my equipment.

It's all oiled up and ready to go, I pour about 1 gal of used oil in it each year and work all the levers.

load that baby up with fertilizer and you have a load.

its been a few years since i used it, but keep it in ready condition, if i do need it.

and yes they are getting harder to come by, as most of them were let rust up, due to improper cleaning after use and they went to the scrap yard.

Good luck finding one, it does a fine job as it spreads the fertilizer in a very even pattern.

these little 3 pt hitch spreaders are much eaiser to hook up, but they may not spread the material as evenly as the old New Idea.

The upper mid west, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin. There is a world of small farm equipment in those states, I make 2 or 3 trips a year buying stuff for use and resale and have done for many years. Travel the old state highways, not the interstates, check the classifieds in small town newspapers and thrifty nickel papers, every other town has someone with a used equipment lot. Also search craigslist nation wide on allofcraigs.com
