ATV/Garden Tractor Planter (PICS)

Here's my latest project, a one row pull type planter for behind a garden tractor or ATV. Essentially it's a 3 point hitch caddy with the top link acting as a lever for lifting as the winch winds in. The top link and tongue height are adjustable.

Looks great,
if ground is soft your cart wheels may need to be wider to
keep them on top of the ground. If the cart wheels cut into
the ground will that affect your seed depth?

It's a John Deere 71 unit.
At first I was concerned about the wheels sinking in, but since all the weight will be off the wheels when the unit is in the ground (except for the weight of the frame), I'm not too concerned. I will put depth bands on the opener discs, and then the wheels will just be for stability when the unit is down. I only have three plates right now, Lustran B6-24, B 25-16, and B11-24. Anyone know their intended purpose?

Here's a video of the lift action for anyone interested.

If you used a fatter tire, it'd work like a gauge wheel, then you wouldn't need the depth bands. Might work like that anyway. The B6-24 and B11-24 are flat corn plates, the B25-16 is a round corn plate. Go here, http://www.lincolnagproducts.com/ to get the cell sizes. Cool build, bet you see it copyed on ebay before the summer's out. Mark

I sat and looked at it for a while, and I still can't see it. The lift system floats when it is down because the cable is loose, so the frame does not control the depth of the unit. Maybe its just me being dumb though.
