ok I am a newbe to this I have a 2n ford and I would like to find out how long of a top link I need for a back blade I want to put on it. Thanks

Just go to TSC or a similiar store and get a category 1 toplink. They're all standard and asjustable.

Am no expert on Ford 2N, but you may want to post this question in the Ford 9N, 2N, 8N forum. I know that some tractors (across the rainbow) had different size top links at different times in the production cycle (e.g. IIRC F3000 was one of them).
I do know from own experience (JD 4020) that top-links are not just top-links, size and quality of them vary greatly in the aftermarket world. Yes, TSC, Atwood's, Orscheln's and alike sell them, but it will be worthwhile your money and time to look into it a little deeper. Of course, an original in good shape would be best but may be pricey. You also may want to do a key word or phrase search on top-link for 2N here on YT or other search engines to unearth answers to the same or related questions from past posts.
Just rambling. Ralph in OK.

Length of the top link can be adjusted. Length isn't critical for a back blade... changing the length will affect the angle of attack of the cutting edge. Just adjust it shorter or longer until it's cutting like you want. I usually have mine adjusted so the frame of the blade is pretty much level.

Eh - TSC and the others typiclly have a shorty and a regular. You'd typically want the regular length for most stuff. Sorry I don't have the exact number in my head.

There are 3 Category 1 generic toplink lengths. You will want the longest or possibly the mid sized one for a 9N.
