273 started making noise.. so i investigated. Turns out needed all 6 bearings that run the feeder fingers. Lets just say only 4 were still there. (so much for only having 10,000 bales through it) but I digress. Any who the bearings for those who dont know are a sealed bearing that has a threaded shaft on one side which screws into a bar that runs the feeder fingers.. BUT $40.00 dollars apiece...REALLY!!! Holy crud!!! And yes I bought them.. had to there be hay a layin....

They are called "cam follower bearings". GOOGLE it and see if you can find a reasonable source for "next time".

I had to buy those for my 326, it only has 2. Couldn"t find any other place to get them in the right size. Make sure you replace the plastic caps when they get worn out, mine would have been fine but the previous owner ran it once the caps had come apart.

Wanna trade? I bought a whole brand new air conditioner compressor from Worthington yesterday for $189. Went to the Gehl dealer to get a rinkydink little sensor about half the size of an ink pen for the round baler,$207 plus $15 shipping. Two weeks ago,I made the mistake of ordering a knife head for the Hesston haybine,just a piece of strap iron with 10 little holes in it and a nut of sorts welded to it to screw the pitman ball in to,$172...$196 with shipping!!!

makes you wonder...my buddy with the dairy farm has 3-4 1100-1155 massey tractors...the dowl pins in the pto shaft (1000/540) have 4 bolts & 2 pins to attach the pto stub...the 540 ones are 22 bucks each...the 1000 are only 8....go figurehe also has a new Idea round bailer & the latches that hold the side door shut were lost( there a camlock style) was in the dealer getting some other parts & remembered he need some, asked the parts guy if he had any ,and he said "yes, I have one and it is 126.50"this is basicly a 3"long 3/8 bolt witha pin thru the end & a spring...126.50 my a$$ ....Shawn
