In my barn I have an implement for picking up loose hay its green made of oak with several tines with forged tine tips with two forks on each side. question whats the proper name. this appears to be converted for use with a three point hitch.
thanks

sounds like a horse drawn hayloader to be pulled behind a hayrake loading hay over the back of the rack. I don't know how or why anyone would convert it to 3pt you would be dumping the hay on your head as your driving the tractor

At home the old timers called that a hay buck. They were used when stacks of hay were made to feed out of thru the winter. the buck was pushed around the field by horses or a tractor gathering windrowed hay and when a pile was loaded the buck was used to dunp the hay onto the stacker which built the hay stack.Real vintage equipment.

It's probably a sweep rake/Buck rake. Sometimes mounted on a tractor, truck or even pushed by horses. We had one in the fifties which mounted on the front of the Ford 8 N Lots of pictures in Google images of sweeprakes

Thanks for the info! I'll try to get some pictures, I'll have to get help to get it moved aorund. It definately looks like is was converted for three point use. Being that is green who could possibly be the manufacturer?
Thanks
Ted
