Just thinking as I walked around today looking seems Dad and I have as many home made or modified implements as bought ones. How many make their own or modify the ones they got?

I have made a 6-ft field cultivator, carry-all, mounted spike tooth harrow, and a custom toolbar for my tractors. They all get frequent use and I saved a bundle over buying new. Plus, it is fun to make stuff like this. Got a few more ideas floating around my head if I ever find the time . . .

I probably have a dozen, or so, that I have cobbled up, for my ASV rubber track crawler, several buckets, 2 mowers, aerator, hydraulic weedeater, lots more, just can't remember them all at once! Saved a pile-o-money, building them myself, though.

We have a heavy duty boom pole that can be used on 3pt or with pallet forks.
Anyone ever made a bushhog deck? I have a junk bushhog with a good gearbox. Was thinking of building a new deck for it.

They built a bushhog here at work and used 1/4 " steel thing was so heavy the tractor could hardly even lift it. So I would suggest that if you do build one use 1/8" or 3/16" steel for the deck and use 1/4" on the frame and 3x3x1/4 angle JMHO

Thats about what I was thinking. Any thoughts on blade tip clearance? I've seen some with a couple of inches and some that the blades almost touch the sides. I'd like to have no wasted width, but it should have some clearance there I think.
