Are these guides welded in on early models ? The book says to loosen the plow share bolts , mine doesnt have these - but I cant see no welds either ????

To see those bolts you have to pretty much crawl under the beast and even then they are hard to see due to the rust and dirt and grease and oil build up. I did a couple of them in my 850 a couple years ago and they did prove to be a real pain to do

I replaced all of them on mine and it was not a bad job . Mine were spot welded on but a good chisle and hammer and they popped right off . The holes were already there to bolt the new ones on . If yours are bolted on there is just one bolt on each end and you will be able to see the head of the bolt in the end of the track . Pull it up on some ramps or boards to give you some extra room under it . Dont forget to put your door locks down !! A finish nail makes good s hooks to put your chains back together .
