Anyone know of a place to get new apron chains for a 850 NEW HOLLAND round baler besides the dealers ? My pins started popping out the back of the metal pieces ; wantta get it ready for 2011 !!!

I might add that my 850 must be one of the early ones, as the tubes on mine are welded to the chain. If/when my chains give too much trouble I am pretty sure the baler will be scrap. I had a similar experience on replacing my channels on the floor that the floor chains ride in. All of those are weled in, not bolted, and that is all factory welds. I had to torch out the welds, pull out the channels, and I welded back in same holes. I considered trying to bolt them in, however I figured they lasted nearly 30 years, so I am thinking these will outlast the remainder of the baler, and easier to just tack them in again, and be done. Every other 850 I have seen the floor channels and apron chain bars are bolt in, except for this one, and I know it is a very early model.

I never think about Schoup, New Hooland dealer can get them for $525 , Schoup is $625 , May try Kens number

I definetely would try kens number. Last I checked and it has been a while the floor chains were 200 at the dealer. Apron chains for under 200 is a very good price, and there is a lot of steel in those.

Also, make sure the Shoup price is for one.....looks to me like it is for a matched set of two, which makes it much better than the dealer unless the dealer is also selling the matched set for that price.
