JD 275 disc mower

I have been looking a t disc mowers. I have found a JD 275 that looks to be in good shape. Asking Price is $3200. Is this a fair price. The gentleman with the disc mower is not sure how old it is. What year did they begin making the JD 275. Any help of thoughts would be appreciated.

A 275 is same as a Kuhn gen 2 700 hd..9ft 2 inches...probably started making about 12 years ago... same as now as they were then

$3200.00 for a used 275 sounds high to me although I admit I personally would never buy a used disc mower. Put a few grand with it and get a new shaft drive mower, you will know what you have to start with and, if properly maintained, it will last the average person a working lifetime.

Check for play in the discs. any more than 1/8 inch side to side or up and down at the tips would indicate a bearing problem. Also look close at the header suspension points.
