In shopping for a hydraulic cylinder for my plow, I've discovered that many places handle two different 3-1/2"x8" cylinders.
One is designated an ASAE cylinder, and the closed dimension is approximately 2" longer than a "normal" cylinder. I would imagine the extended length is also about 2" longer.
The ASAE cylinder is always a few dollars cheaper than the same size and brand normal cylinder.
How would I know when I needed one type or the other?
