I just bought a running gear with F&H steel spoke 16"x5.5" rims. The rims have bushings, not bearings, that ride on the spindles and the rear of the bushing is covered with a soft, spongy, thick gasket that acts as a grease seal. The gasket material is covered with a steel cap which is pressed onto the inner hub of the rim. I removed the steel cap to replace the bushings and need to find the gasket material. Does anyone know where I can find replacement parts for F&H spoke wheels?
 
That spongy material is felt. Felt seals were used on lots of equipment over the years in the past like tractor wheels, clutch seals, combines, ect that some are still available and might match up. Just have to measure it and match something up or a gasket shop can make them for you too. Some local bearing supplies can make them or get felt seals for you. Google for Olsens Gaskets, Gaskets To Go. Here I would get Lubbock Gasket to make some.
