wondered if anyone can tell me what model drill this is. it is a McCormick Deering. it has a wooden tongue on it that has been cut at sometime. may have been a horse drawn originally and switch to tractor drawn. thanks.

It looks to be the same type as mine, other than mine sows fine seed like alfalfa in the same box as wheat, oats, peas, beans, and corn. My wheels look different also, but all under the box of yours and mine looks the same. Mine is a 1924 MD. The tongue hookup is exactly the same, and I assume you have the 2 bent handles between the seat with foot rests under it in the back. Ive got a manual for mine here somewhere, but I cant find it. Sorry. Mine is/was a very good drill, but I need to replace the box. Take VERY good care of yours. It looks like a good one too. Good luck, Mine isa a 14 hole if I remember right.

thanks.

this drill does not have the handles on the back and no seat or foot rests. it does have a gear box/rope trip lever on the front side in the middle.

Looks like a model MF that was built up into the early 50's and was avaible either with the steel wheels or high rubber or low rubber and the hand lift or clutch lift was an option.

The wood toung just indicates it was sold with a horse hitch but that was also an option like different kinds of openers and different opener spacing of either 7" or 8".

We have 11MF & 13MF with wooden box on steel, this drill resembles the MF, but not exactly.... grass seed on our MF is on the back and down low, foot board full length on back. I'd say based on the metal cones it's older the model older than the MF's we have.

MF the seed box is high on the front, seen some with it on the back but do not know how they did it. Had 2 of the 13 - 7 MF drills and grass box was on front on both and I have 2 parts drills setting here on my trailer now to deliever to an Amish friend and they both have the grass box in front.

McCormick Deering 13-10 or 13-8 ?? 13 openers & the spacing in inches. The ones with steel wheels like it were made from 1937 on into the 1940s with those made in 40s have angle iron hitches. Some steel box ones were made about 1935 but had still had wood wheels. 150 years of International Harvester books by C.H. Wendel shows some like it but doesn't give any models just years.
