310 NH square baler tying?

In have a 310 NH square baler. What it is doing is on the right side it will go through the motion of tying the knot. I have put in both sides the knife and the knot thrower. That worked for a while. What it is doing is on the right side it will tie but get hung up on the knottier. I have tried to shim it and tried to bend the knife arm. It also has stared to throw the shear bolt after tying. What should I do try to time it again and bend the hook up a little more.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Brad

The best advise you will get is to buy an operator's manual. Best $20 bucks you will spend on that machine. Which shearbolt is breaking? the flywheel bolt or knotter bolt?. Knots hanging can be knife arm adjustment, too much billhook cam tension, excesive bale tension, dull knife, or a combination.
NH Manuals

I have an operator manual. I have been trying to set the baler as showed in the book. The bolt that is breaking is the fly wheel after it gets done tying. Retimed the baler still the same.
I have just installed new knife arms and have been trying to adjust the side with the trouble. I have tried to tighten and loosen the tension on the knotter. Sometimes the knife just shreds the twine. If the knots do stayed tied sometimes they break when the bale comes out the back of the baler.
I will go and read the book again. Any more help in the right direction will be great.
Thanks again

Check your needle latch adjustment and back off the bale tension. Go buy a bale of twine of a different brand.

All NH knotters are basically the same. I suggest you search the archives on this forum. You'll find lots of discussions on this topic and it is likely you can find an answer there.

I'd start by searching "NH won't tie"

Good luck

I think that I figured it out. I think what was the problem was that I was trying to bale to tight. I also retimed the baler. So I do not know if that was the problem. The baler hammered out 20 plus bales. One did break I really do not know what the problem was.

Thank for the help.

I bought a baler that was set up to use 9,000 twine and tried to use 7200 twine. It wouldn't tie until I went back to using the 9,000. Sometimes if the twine is uneven or damp it will bother cutting after its tied or won't tie. My 2 cents...........
