3020 vs 6210

Assuming you're talking about Deere tractors? Looking at the Nebraska tractor tests, the 3020 diesel had a maximum drawbar power of 55 hp while pulling 4045 lbs at 5.1 mph (test #848). The four wheel drive 6210 (test #1821) maxed out at 61 hp with a pull of 5745 lbs at 4.0 mph. The test weights of the two tractors was only a few hundred pounds different (6210 was more). Overall, the drawbar power is similar but the newer tractor can exert more drawbar force, probably as a result of having 4WD.

All depends.............ballast, hitch point, tire type, tire pressure etc.
All in all a 6210 4WD would walk all over a 30202WD. More work per gallon of fuel.30 years less age related deterioration too.

In thinking about the numbers a little more, the drawbar pull of the 6210 may not have been as much a result of the 4WD as I indicated earlier. The Nebraska tests are done on concrete and so the benefits of 4WD are not as apparent as they would be in actual field operation. So, we could maybe draw the conclusion that even without engaging the front axle, the 6210 would be superior. And as Buick suggested, most old 3020's around would probably not run as strong as they did when new.

All for a mere $50,000 extra investment. That would buy ten 3020 as each 3020 wore completely out.

Or buy 150 years of fuel for the 3020.

buickddeere,
If new JD tractors are supposed to be more fuel efficient than older ones how do you explain my JD 4255 uses 2 1/2 gal/hr pulling a JD 467 baler at max pressure baling 27 ft raked together while my neighbors JD 6715 uses 3 gal/hr pulling a 9 ft disk mower /no conditioner cutting same hay???????????

6715 is slightly less HP at 95 pto where 4255 is 120 pto.

Granted my non-computer controlled tractor is a '91 model not late 60's.
