I bought a 8n Ford tractor and it came with some equipment. One of the implements is a #12 Vulcan Plow. Does anyone know anything about the Vulcan Plow Co? I can't find anything on the internet about them.
Thanks

You posted something about a vulcan plow about 2 years ago and I just saw it. I don't know how much you know by now but Vulcan was originally in Evansville, Indiana. It merged with some other companies in 1930. Please send me an email back to let me know you got this. I used to live in Evansville and would enjoy knowing more about the plow like how big it is, etc. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken the Vulcan plow works were in Evansville , Ind. I believe ther is a display and some historical info at the Old Courthouse in Evansville about the company.

I saw the Vulcan Plow display today in the Basemen of the old Courthouse building in downtown Evansville today. It consits of the actual statue of the mythical character of Vulcan, the symbol of the company, that used to reside atop their building in downtown Evansville. Behind the statue in the courthouse is a horsedrawn Vulcan plow, with some information about the company, including a very interesting story about how the Vulcan Plow company had a deal with Henry Ford and Harry Ferguson to supply plows for their joint Fordson hitch design. I believe that the information in the display indicated that the corporate reminents of the Vulcan Plow Company went out of business in the early 1950s.
