Guys,I am looking for the bolts that hold the end blades.I had look all around and can"t find them.Blade holes are 1 3/8".Local JD dealers is a joke and I even contacted JD themselfs with no contact back.I know this is an old unit even with a SS# 003.The unit is in very good shape and I don"t want to replace something that works very good.I was able to buy new blades, but no bolts.Any help out there? Thanks guys!

Your mower was built with 3/8" thick blades, but they could have been replaced with 1/2" thick blades at some point, so the first thing you need to do is measure your blades because the hardware is different for each. Here are your part numbers:

For 3/8" Blades:
GY2250W Blade Bolt $36.82 each
11M7040 Cotter Pin $.47 each
12H234 Washer $1.03 each
14H920 Nut $2.47 Each

For 1/2" Blades:
W12064 Blade Bolt $38.37 each
W10327 Lock Nut $13.38 each

The above prices are current John Deere list, and you will need two of each for each blade.

Another tidbit of info: These mowers don"t have actual serial numbers. The 003 is actually a "series" number. All the mowers in that series will have 003 on their tags. The other series is 004. The 003"s were built with 3/8" blades and the 004"s were built with 1/2" blades. I was a John Deere parts manager for 18 years, so I have been through this a few times. If you want to send me your e-mail address, I will send you a PDF of the parts catalog for your mower. That should help you with your dealer when you need parts. Many of the part numbers have been subbed to new numbers, but they should be able to tell you that when they check price and availability. The above numbers I gave you are the latest subs.

Most local farm supplies with aftermarket parts will have blades and bolts too or can get them. external_link or aiproducts.com You can get the parts catalog online at jdparts.com go to parts catalog section and enter your model number. Register with a dealer and you can price it online or see if they even have it in stock and how many.

Whoops! I screwed up. I said "you will need two of each for each blade". What I meant to say is you will need one of each for each blade. Sorry!!!!!
