Yet another New holland 68 question

Thanks to all on the timing answers, and chain size. So now Ive done all you said got the two set in the right spot but thedrive chain running on the top has a lot of slack in it when the two are set. The chain sags. When I tighten it up the two are not in time any more. Is there a way to adjust one of the gears? Or is a little slack along the top acceptable, It seems like 1/2 a link of slack on the top side.
Again thanks to all who offer me assistance

I only picked up your posts when you were talking about the chain length, so I'm not sure exactly which sprockets you are timing.

I'll check the timing chains on the Super 68 that I have when I get home and see if there are any kinds of small adjustments to the sprockets to help deal with your problem (if someone else doesn't answer your question first).

No way around a new chain on this one. Been there, done that. I got one that was in good shape off a junk baler in a boneyard for a couple of bucks. A new one from the dealer was around $70.

If you are talking about the feeder drive chain, you can open the twine chamber and look against the back wall. You'll see the adjusters there. But if the chain is stretched, you'll need to replace it.
