Farmall Super C with a 3 point

I have a 52-54 Farmall Super C which is not equipped with a hydraulic cylinder in the rear.  I have a 3 point hitch with drawbars which attach to the actuator under the gas tank.  The drawbars I have are only 5 feet long and at the lowest position, hold the 3 point far too high to even attach the bush hog.  I believe these drawbars should be 6 feet long for a Super C.  Can anyone confirm?
 
Farmall C: I can't figure out what you are refering to as drawbars, beng plural. A tractor only has one drawbar. I think you must be refering to lift linkage from front rockshaft to the rear rockshaft. If that be the case, yes, it should be longer. It actually should have a threaded adjustment, so you can change the lift range. While the lower links may be too high for a bush hog, it may be well suited to a disk or plow.

All the factory linkages going from rockshaft to rockshaft, the rear rockshaft had a yoke the lift link went through. The lift link was threaded for about 6" so you could adjust the height to suit various implements.
 
Sounds a lot like an aftermarket 3 point I purchased for my C a few years ago. While I did suceed in rigging it up to kinda work, it never worked right on every implement, and I gave up on it and sold it for quite a bit less than I paid for it. I have heard that the saginaw brand hitches work well, but they do not have the attachments running to the rockshaft arms. The one I had simply had the wrong geometry and I was either fighting it because it did not raise high enough, or if it raised high enough it would not lower enough. I did do away with the solid link arms to the rockshafts and used a length of chain instead where I could adjust the chain length depending on the implement. Since I had a tractor that had a 3 point it was basically pointless in fighting it instead of just using the 3 point tractor.
