Hello, I have a john deere van brunt grain drill(standered FB 15-7)overall it is about 11 foot. What is the correct rim and tire size for this model drill? Also who and where could i get one of the used rims from. Thanks

I have an extra rim, where are you? The tire size really does not matter, as long as both are the same. Taller tires will decrease population relative to shorter tires.

I have seen some with 5 lug wheels and the 13-7 that I had had 6 lug 15" wheels, first need to know number of lugs you have, They also were made with 16" wheels

My drill came with a 15 inch rim on one side and a 16 inch rim on the other side. Both are five lug. I would like to know which one is the correct rim. I live around columbus ohio. Thanks

I would guess that the 16" is the orignal with the 15" being a replacement from when the other, should be a 6:50 X 16", went bad and instead of finding the correct size for the orignal wheel they took whatever they had laying around to use. Now the question is are you wanting to restore to orignal or just to use? I might be able to find a orignal type of rim in 16" if you want to restore but if you just want to use then find a matching pair of wagon rims, the 5" wide or narrower rim, 6" might cause sidewall problems, the bolt spacing will be the same, on 15" and go with a used car tire. Mine had a 7.60 X 15" tire on it and I think without checking the book your size did as well, the larger drills it called for an 8:00 X 15" on and the seeding rate was adjusted in chart for the different tires. I am thinking that a 215 75 X 15 series should be about correct size, could be a 225 75 would be correct, a 235 75 would be too big as that compaired to the 8:20 X 15" tire. A 70 or less series tire would be too wide for the height that you need. You need a exact matched pair as a bit different size will keep the dogs in a wheel jumping on a side as you are goimg straight down the field. The 6:50 X 16" would be very hard to find and costly if and when you do find them. And the drills were sold without tires for the purchaser to use tires he had on hand on his car and to put new tires on the car so any straight tread tire will work. I am about 70 mile northwest of Columbus just off U S 33.

All 3 that I have owned have had 16" rims. I think the manual also mentions the rates for different sizes of 16" tires.

I'm in MD so the shipping would be more than the rim, you should be able to find 1 local, these were popular drills.
