On an 855 set up for bale command, how does the twine wrapping work on the baler it self. Doesn't appear to be electically actuated - perhaps it is mechanical? The bale command appears to be shot, so considering not using it and doing the twine wrapping and cutting manually. Anyone tried doing this?

All the tying machinery: twine routing/slide plate/twine arms/cutter head between the hydraulic models and the bale command are totally identical after you get past that motor or hydraulic cylinder.
There are a few small differences in the switch(s) placement and the way that they are wired also; mainly in that the bale command models have a "door closed" switch and the manual models don't.

If there is no electric motor or a hydraulic cylinder like the one in the picture, you probably have an auto-wrap baler.
They are mechanical and fully automatic. All you gotta do is stop the tractor and dump the bale when the tie is done. However, ya need that warning buzz box to let you know when things are happening so that you can stop the forward travel.
Are your arms located/mounted in the center of the baler or are they hung out by the sidewalls?
The mechanical tie style will wrap from the center out and use a knife mounted at each outside edge to cut the twine.
Hydraulic and Bale Command units tie from the outside in towards the center of the bale and use a "hammer block" mechanical unit affair to cut the twine in the center of the machine.
If you have an "auto wrap", all you're gonna see under that left cover is a bunch of gears. No electric motor and no hydraulic cylinder.

Thanks Allan for the info. This baler appears to tie from the inside out and seems to have a cutting block. I couldn't see any electric or hyd components that are making the twine arms move. Wonder how that bale command box makes the baler tie and cut, if the baler is an auto tie? In following the harness at a glance, all I saw was one elec motor that was on the left hand side - I think just like the pic you showed me. Trying to remember now what it was doing, is that the motor that controls the cutting?

It really is kind of slick how they drempt that up. Hard to explain, but the whole outfit rides on a two-piece sliding plate, which moves back and forth onto itself, to make the arms move.
They don't use "linkage to the arms" like the mechanical tie models do.
That baler is just the cat's whisker's when they work right, but will absolutely drive ya nuts when they don't.
