What would be a good tool to sharpen the knives on my hay baler without removing them? They have shims under them and they are hard to get back in the right place and I wanted to sharpen them a little just about every time we run it sense some of our hay is course. Would a die grinder work for this needs to be some kind of a small air tool. I think that it was NHbalerman told me one time to raise up the tongueand let the pickup drop down and it would give you more room to get inside. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The knife needs to be run close to the shear bar to cut the hay, but alass, the only way to adjust it is with the shims. Sorry.

On our farm we've never sharpened the blade the whole time we've had the baler(Massey # 12) and it still makes a good clean edge. Only thing we do is grease it up and go to the feild. I would think an angle grinder would work if you must grind it, a die grinder I can see just being painfully slow trying to remove enough material to get a sharp edge.
