Hardly old enough to be yesterdays equipment, but not exactly new anymore . I have been sniffing the market, and would be interested in hearing what others say about this model machine. 300 acres would be a big year for me.

I only own the old JI Case machines but have a friend that had 1460 and 1660 and up graded to a 2366 . Claims very good machine. He does custom combining so I know he has put thousands of acres threw that machine. He said he will need to up date, He claims no real problems other than parts wearing out.Even tho I own older machines and use them, If you can get a good custom operator to be when you need them it's cheaper to have them combine then owning one

Not a 2366, but We've had a 2344 for approximately 12 years. We're the 2nd owners after buying it from an older gentleman's retirement auction with 900 seperator hrs on the clock. It replaced a 1640 machine that we had. We typically have corn, soybeans, and occasionally wheat totalling up to approximately 650 acres every year. It has been a really dependable machine with normal wear items replaced for preventative maintenance. We run a 20 ft model 1020 grain head and a CNH 2206 6 row corn head on it with no problems. Our row width is set at 30 inches. My only suggestion from years of running IH combines would be look for one with a specialty rotor if you plan to pick many soybeans as they will handle green stems much better than the conventional rotor with slugging. Another improvement was made with the spreader kit installation on the chaff spreader system. This shines if anyone intends to do any no-tilling post harvest.

this year i went from a 1680 to a 2388, to me a night and day improvement on the 2388. a lot more electronic in the machine but it improved the cab a bunch. if your buy 2300 try and get a 2000 model or newer, case put more wear-steel (spelling ) in the rotor area of the combine.

You hit the jackpot. Everyones dream is to find the piece of equipment they need, that has been purchased new, buy an older farmer. Well cared for and lightly used. I know that there are machines like that out there, but often several other farmers near by are also jump on such a machine, just as soon as its available. I am not in a rush, and would gladly pay a premium for a lightly used machine, rather than just go out and buy one that fits with the current market price. Only to find out its beat .

Went by my friends place today to see a new shiny combine maybe 8250 ??? His 2366 even tho was a great machine was due to replaced. Not sure how he will like it but only time will tell. His dad did custom combing and his grandfather did too, I wonder what his grandfather would say looking that machine

About 5 years ago I bought a 2166 on the strength of the good luck I had with my 1460. The cab is nicer but the added electronics gave me fits this year. It took several trips out by the dealer's mechanic and a few $250. non-returnable electrical parts to finally get the unloading auger working again. This followed an earlier trip to the dealership for a complete going-over including new rub bars, bearings in assorted places, replacing cracked shoe frame members, etc. I haven't had the nerve to add up all the bills but it's probably nudging $40,000. spent on a $20,000 combine. At least it's money Trudeau won't get this year!

They are a good machine, we have had a 1440,1660,1666, and now a 2366,like was said get as late a model as you can they also had heavier rear axles, the rails that hold the grain shoe are prone to cracking especially if the rubber bushings in the shaker arm fail of the big excentric bearing that drives the grain shoe fails. If it were me and I bought one I would change them first just as preventive maintenance then be happy for a long time, on 300 acres you would probably never wear it out. the after market parts supply is good for them.
