I have just started using a New Holland 1496 Swather. This model does not have an auger. The reel rotates is a way that pulls the crop to the center.
Cut hay builds up below the conditioner rolls. The hay build-up sets just above the sickle. I don't know if this is normal and correct. I know the reel can be adjusted slightly forward or backward. As well as can be adjusted slightly up or down. The owners manual gives a measurement for up and down. But does not give any reference for forward and back.
I do not know if the reel teeth should keep the build up of hay happen or not.
I just share the reel stuff for information. The main question, should cut hay build up on the header below the conditioning rolls, or does something need adjusted?
Thank you for any input.
