213 Grain Head

I'm looking at some 213 grain heads and have found several 80's models in very good condition and price. But one of the things I've noticed is that most all appear to have very long row dividers on them. I know they can be removed but I'd still like to have protection for the wobble box and just overall some safety too.

That said, are there options for shorter/different dividers? Really not looking for one that seems to stick out a football field in length ahead of the reel and cutter bar. :)

What crop will you be cutting? Deere made the 213 in 2 types. The ridgid head is used for cutting small grains and has the short style
dividers. There is also a 213 flex head that is mainly used for soybeans. It can be blocked up and made ridged for cutting small grains but it
will not feed in as good as the regular ridged head. The long snoots are for feeding in down soybeans and are part of the float setup to
follow the ground when cutting soybeans. There were some aftermarket shorter snoots. Tom

You might not like the looks of them but before you replace them run them an afternoon in soybeans. You will fall in love with them.

Appreciate the response. Mainly small grains (wheat/oats). But who knows....may do beans one day. I am looking for the flex head due to its versatility.

Thanks!

We have a flat metal stock c band , on the White 920 head.
Bolts flat under your triangle metal in front of the wobble box, curves up and has a spot for cross bolt through the reel support tube, this allows it to curve as you raise lower your reel.
Will get a pic Wednesday...

They are made that way so they can separate and divide the swath before the knife cuts the crop off at the cutterbar. They work extremely well in lodged grain and soybeans.
