U joint Gleaner

Think the knuckle in my grain bin on the L3 Gleaner is bad. Something is making the bin fill auger chain jump off, and everything else seems ok. They sure hid that u joint in a tough spot.....

Back to the wrenches, 8 feet in the air. And dont even think about trying to stand in the grain bin, no footing at all in all those angles and slope!

Sigh.

My loader made a nice scaffolding on the one side, with a ladder beside to get up and down. Still too many steps for this old guy to go up and down to get the outside bearings and sprocket off. Then climb in the grain tank and get the auger unbolted and wrestled out and down over the top of the cab. You can guess the typical number of extra trips to get the tool you didnt bring along.....

Tuckered out, and only got it apart, needed to make parts runs and thr. I did other stuff for the remaining daylight.

remember, each u-joint knuckle threads into the auger and the drive stub, gotta thread it out, dont get a puller involved. :)
