Uni-Combine

Good Evening Everyone,

My neighbor is looking to clean out this shed and has a New Idea Uni-System #717 Uni-combine. It hasn't been used in 20+ years and we are not sure if all the parts are there. Is this worth anything or just scrap?

Thanks!

If it is just the combine they don't seem to sell well. Most people are after the husking beds. Personally I liked my 717 on a 705 tractor with a 4 row narrow. It is about the same size as a 715 IH.

We used one for 12 years starting in 1965 along with picker and chopper. Comparable to MF 310 and could share corn head with picker.

I doubt it has any value. I never liked the combine unit on mine when I had it. I had it mainly for the husking bed, but bought a sheller for it too. I sold the combine unit to another guy who had one. He parked it outside when he got it home and unless it's finally gone to the scrapper, it's still in the weeds. That was 40 years ago. I don't think they've gotten any more desirable.

Thank you for the input! Yes, I can't think of many that are still in this area, let alone using the combine. I'll advise him its best to haul for scrap when prices go back up. Thanks again!

When New Idea close they were no longer mantained any parts and were hard to get anything for. Then at that time every one else waa making the bigger machines that was what was being wanted. Neighbor had one when he passed away but never heard of him having problems with it. I would think anybody still using one would like it for parts.
