Weight of JD 55 with header???

I don't think I'll ever use my JD 55 combine again. I've heard scrap iron is up in price. About what would my combine weigh? Any idea of scrap price for it? Engine ran and combine harvested oats year before last (2020) & hasn't been attempted to be started since.

The operators manuals for the combine and for the header should list their weights.

Gotta remember you are not getting Prepared Iron price, but a lot lower price for something like a combine.

I took a 24' hawk cut aeration floor and support to salvage today got $200/ton. Best part he's only 10 miles away.

Yes, and no. The Bluebonnets don't belong to me. The owner is worried that IF we harvested some seed there wouldn't be enough to re-seed themselves in the area we harvested. I think there would be, but its his call. kelly

I agree that its his decision but I dont think there would be a problem with the reseeding either. There were some guys that direct cut some down here years ago. I dont think they could keep a market is why they quit. Tony
