Afternoon forum members:
Does anyone know what notch to begin with for the concave for small grain wheat? Mine is set in the 7th notch counting from the rear inside the cab

Thanks, dself3400

I'm not familiar with a 95 but with any combine in wheat you close them until they hit and then back them off a smidge. Run the cylinder as fast as it will go.

What did your machine harvest last? If it did corn you can not get the cylinder close enough without adjusting the eye bolts that holds the concave first. You also need to loosen 2 bolts further back on the side of the machine. Manual will give directions. Tom

The notches really have no meaning. You will need to operate it in the field and see if it is threshing all the grain out. Sometimes you need to open up if it is grinding the straw and sometimes close up if you are leaving grain in the heads. You will want cylinder speed close to 1000 rpm's. Tom

Flying Belgian, not the newer easy threshing spring wheat,or Durum and especially if its 12 % moisture or less! The faster the cylinder the more it cracks!
