CNH 2206 cornhead

We have had this head for a couple years now and at least 1 of the bolts that holds the stalk rolls and spirals onto the shaft they ride on will snap into every year warrant needed to be drilled out. There has not been any obstructions hit to cause it either. 2 close friends have a 2208 that does likewise. Using original CNH grade 8 bolts / parts. What causes this and is there a solution to fix this ?

The grade 8 bolt was a running change upgrade to help with that known issue. Make sure the bolt is torqued to spec as stated in the manual. The problem is there is no end support like previously on the 1000 series or the newer 3000 series. The 2000 series is a NH head painted red, the 3000 series went back to being a CIH built head and very similar to the older 1000 series and that's one thing they went back to doing was end support of the stalk roll. Maybe the stalk roll is possibly bent causing issues as well, if it continues to be the same one. I run a later model 2206 and knock on wood haven't had that issue yet.

I'm not sure what the torque is on them, but it's a good 150 ft lbs plus. Never is the same one that breaks. I could see it if it was abused but this is far from being close to that.
