My Massey 80 has a rust hole in the grain pan under the concave from nott been cleaned out. What would be reasonable thinkbto fix this since the head is off and the sieves are out.
Thank

Years back had a 90 with same issue. Took measurements of height and length of rib and went to a heating duck place and got a galvanized sheet of metal (thinner than the original) bent to those specs and brazed it here and there on top of the old one and it worked just fine, can't remember if there was dividers or not but if there is they would not be much trouble to tack back on.

I had the same problem with my 60. I was going to rivet, screw, weld a piece of sheet metal below the grain pan. Once the gap got filled I thought the pan would function normally. I couldn't get the metal in place the way I wanted although after I had the combine half scrapped I realized it could have been done by dropping the header. Fuel consumption soured me on Massey combines. I sold some pieces to a collector who was fixing up a similar machine. His comment says it all about the Massey combines of that era. I never would have believed so much gas could flow through such a small tube.
