Can the reel and cutterbar parts from a grain head for a self propelled combine be used on a 96 with a pickup to convert it for straight cutting??

Yes. I did the same thing except I was converting a pickup header to a straight header on a self propelled.

we had one equipped for straight cut. I might still have a 4 bat reel for it here, but we had taken a Hume style reel from a 6600, cut it
down, and used that with orbit motor drive from the tractor scv. It was better than factory...
