7721 combine sold in northern Wisconsin yesterday

Friend of mine called me up yesterday to tell me that I could double my pull type combine fleet for cheap. At the time this was at $600. Well once it went live, it shot up to 3600, and that was without the head! The head sold after it for another 1800 and the straw chopper brought another 200.

I think it would be neat to have a pull type combine. If you have the tractor just one less engine and drive train to maintain and it would
give the neighbors something to talk about.

I can tell you that it is not all candy canes and sunshine. They are very heavy and clumsy. They need a very large turning radius to avoid PTO chatter. They do not have a hydraulic swing tongue. You cannot hear and feel them as well to avoid plugs and make settings. They are a big curiosity that were made for thousand acre flat fields out west and in Canada. I really like mine for its uniqueness, but a self propelled is much more useful.
 
I bought a White 8650 last summer for small grain. Had sat for almost 30 years inside. Good capacity and can turn a square corner at
speed and load without any chatter...1000 rpm pto. Saves changing concaves in my CIH rotor and has better straw quality. Was
cumbersome to use the 4 wd tractor as it won't turn as short as the 2wd but made for a good photo op....

Yep, I had a 42 pull type. I thought it was great to sit in the air conditioned cab of my 4040 listening to the radio, but it was
way too easy to slug too much through it and put a lot of grain right out the back.
