Today I attended a huge estate sale 100 miles west of me located north of Toronto,KS..There was 100 years of accumulation and it took 7 hours to sell it all...I bought the next to last item...I will give all the rest of the results tomorrow in Tractor Talk...
A decent 60 Allis sold for $400..
The scrap man got the 205 JD corn head for $10,yes $10....It sold before the JD 40 combine which was 200 ft away..Theres more to this story..
The 40 JD combine then sold for $525 and went to a collector from Sedan,KS..I immediately went up to him and said that you had better get that 205 JD corn head bought as they are impossible to find..He wasnt out in the pasture when it sold and didnt know it fit the 40 JD combine...So,he we was able to buy the corn head for $80 which was a good buy..
The scrap man got the 45 JD combine for $450...There was another combine way out in the pasture down by a creek that they sold it sight unseen so I dont know what it was...
The 245 acre farm sold for $1725 per acre...The buildings didnt amount to much..
