CIH 1460 bad engine worth

A friend from work son went to look at a 1460 from an estate other then the engine which must have a cracked block from what I can gather, the rest of the machine is in good shape. Machine was kept inside for all its like ,with just 1 owner, they went to check the oil and antifreeze came gushing out. Question they are asking $3500 ,I think it would be worth that much if it was parted out. TIA

He said about 3500 Hr. and the last year the 1460's were made which would make it a 84 or 85 I believe.
 
707 a ton right now unless you need a parts machine then a
little more maybe or you know someone who has need of
parts and you have them sold if you had them
 
Lots of ways for a block to crack besides freezing. I’d think maybe a bad oil cooler or bad head gasket or cracked head
 
Not sure your location, but I am So. Wisconsin. I know a guy has a salvage yard full of stuff and a
number of these combines. I run a 9700 hour 1460 and am sure you could find an engine as they are
common. six o 8 two 14 38 five 2. You might need to buy that one a little cheaper.
 
Went look at it with him last week not a bad machine for its age very little rust,he got it $2500.He has to move it 25 or so miles,he thinks he has a friend that will be able to get it move for him in a week or so.
