Case 150 combine

I have never seen one - did they make many?

I would love to have that combine if it was within a days drive of me. I have a brochure for them. I've never seen one in person. I can't imagine they made many of them because JD, IH, Gleaner, and Massey were so much more popular. Heck I've seen more Oliver combines of that vintage around here. That sitting on the opposite side of the unloading auger had to have turned some potential customers off.

Mid 50s. The first Case self propelled combine was the No 12 and No 9. Next came the No 120 and lastly the 150 which you see here. I think the 12/120/150 all used the same separator. And I think it was 1958 when Case replaced them with new combines that had a more conventional layout.

I don't remember where I found these pictures on the internet. I thought they were interesting. Not even sure what the model number of this Case combine is. Would be my guess that a hillside combine with a single rear wheel was not very popular.

It is definitely what I would call a rare bird.

I am always amazed by how much farm machinery actually survived the years. And how much of it there must?ve once been, when most of our society was involved more directly with agriculture.

Also surprised more of these things did not catch fire, LOL. That gas tank directly under the operators platform is a little sketchy.

My Dad bought a 150 Case in the late 50?s. Had a 14 foot 4 row header. It was the first self propelled combine in our area.

It did a good job harvesting. We ran it til 67 or 68. Did a good job for us. Cut a lot of beans for its size.

It is sitting in a fence row now.

Thanks for making me think of this part of my life. Lots of changes since that combine was a workhorse.

What's the location of the fence row where the 150 is setting? Some one might be interested in restoring it.
