Running this field of organically grown oats/barley.
Seems nice and clean, been swathed for three
days, running about ton to the acre, more or less.

Glad to see you have got a break in the weather, it sure has been catchy. I just baled 50 4' bales to wrap, calling for rain here tonight.

wish I could find one of those big pull type combines down here. Were just never sold in any numbers around here. After the ac 72s everybody went to self propelled combines. Looks like the KUBOTA is doing well.

Probably not much different distance to the Canadian prairies from your farm , than it is from mine. These old combines sell cheap enough in Saskatchewan, that you could buy one and truck it home. I bought this one from out in Alberta, and it was in my yard in Ontario for $6,900.00.
Dealer near me hauls construction equipment west, and back hauls these pull type combines , and articulated tractors back to Ontario. No one wants a old articulated tractor out there to work thousands of acres, they want newer equipment. But here in Ontario, one of these old tractors to do primary tillage on a few hundred acres, or pull a grain cart, they are a good deal.
Mennonite farmers can?t have self propelled combines, so there is a good market for these old pull types here in Ontario.
