Alright guys, I?m a bit confused. Removing the upper auger, but cannot get passed the step platform. Thoughts? I?d post a picture, but I have no idea how to do it.

IIRC, take a couple of bolts out and step platform can be pulled outward and/or removed. CAREFUL!

We had that auger out of an 8820 some years ago, and I remember having to do something like that, but not the exact details.

Local dealer called me back and said the same thing. Remove the platform. I'm not impressed with that prospect. Don't really want to send it back to the shop. Just spent 5k on it last month when I had to repair the cylinder mounting. Think I jumped in the money pit again!

I think you can slide the platform out enough, be careful its heavy. I have replaced several but that was awhile back. I'll look at my my 7720 tomorrow to jog my memory.

I appreciate the response. I'm not sure I can tackle this on my own. I was tempted to cut a notch out of the support, but thought that might not be the best idea.

Decided to have the professionals do it. Figured I could be more productive doing other jobs around the farm. Besides it's only money!

Technician showed up today and we had the job done in an hour. Really liked the crane on his service truck.
