9400 vs 9600

The mounting plate on the face of the feeder house is the same clear back to the JD 3300s. We joked around at the store one fall. We picked up a 244 corn head on a JD 9610 and parked it out front. LOL The IH guys crowed about how that was all the bigger head it would take. LOL

The feeder house chain, cylinder bars and walker area are all wider.

The one thing you will have to do is on the left side you may have the sprocket collar on the shaft but if the JD 9600 has the variable speed/reverser you may have a 21 tooth male spline. you would need the spline to sprocket adaptor. If the machine has Contour Master or an after market leveling system then the backshaft would be setup for telescoping shafts not the straight collar/sprocket drive ones.

We ran a 6 row on a 9600 for a few years and se like if the corn good it cleaned it fine but in bad years it was hard to keep the machine full. One year when it was wet we rented an 8 row and put the duals on and that worked great.

I did the opposite...was setting up a 930 head, no other machine close by, tried using a 3300 to lift it. She said no.
