Waiting for my son to finish spraying so took a few pictures of stuff left over from previous tenants. None of it's really in the way of anything so probably will be there for another 60 years. Gleaner Baldwin, Tag on Gleaner, Rake says New Idea Farm Equipment Coldwater Ohio, Old Swather says Massey Harris

Picture not quite clear enough to tel model of rake for sure but I think it is a New Idea No. 4 and I am looking for any I can find within driving distance. Good best but will take parts units only. I rebuild for Amish to use. Where are you located?

Northeast Colorado. Probably a long drive. Picture in a different view and one of cover with the writing on it.

I am 40 mile from where that rake was built in Coldwater, Ohio. The 4 bar is a number 4 built starting in 48 to late 50's with a model 44 being built for a couple of years at the end with mostly different brackets to hold the rear wheels and then avaiblt levers on toung to supposedabley be reached from tractor seat. The 3 bar version did not carry a model number and was built from 1935 to 1947 and not worth as much as a 4 bar model. Just picked up a No. 4 at auction sat for $200 that supprised me for the Amish dealer I work with and he had his family give me $400 for it that he has not seen and might decide it is worth more to him than the $400. He will just need to weld a 1/6" x 1" brace and put on 9 teeth that new are $2.25 each and he will have on his sales lot for at least $800. The No.4 is about the most desired rake ever built. The only version New Idea built with rubber were low wheel models No. 45 and No. 47. After market wheels were made to convert stel wheel models to rubber on a 36" tire but New Idea did not make those and steel wheels are all they want. An Amish company boyght the rights to continue building the last model 4 wheel spreader after the New Idea plant was shuttered but the company would not sell the rights to that rake.
